Knowii Voice AI
Press, speak, release. Your words land wherever your cursor is. Runs on your machine, nothing leaves it. The fastest capture tool I know, which is why it comes before the journaling habit.
What it is
Voice-to-text that runs entirely on your computer. Hold a key, talk, let go, the text appears in whatever app has focus. Obsidian, your email, a chat window. No account, no subscription, no audio sent anywhere.
I put it here in the path, right after the Knowledge Worker Kit and before the journaling workshop, on purpose. The number one reason people stop journaling is friction. Speaking a daily note takes a minute. Typing it takes ten, and on day twelve you skip it.
Where to find it
Bought on Gumroad or the store: your Gumroad library. License key in the library; downloads and docs at voice-ai.knowii.net.
Bought on knowii.net: downloads are in the Voice AI space; you also get an invite to the community (Explorer level plus the Voice AI spaces).
Documentation: docs.voice-ai.knowii.net. Setup, models, hotkeys, troubleshooting.
Support, whichever way you bought: issues, questions, feature requests all go to the Voice AI Discussions space in Knowii, or straight to me at sebastien@developassion.be. Knowii members get their invites from me personally, within 24 to 48 hours of subscribing. Nothing yet? Write to sebastien@developassion.be.
Do this first
- Install, pick the model the installer recommends for your machine, set your hotkey.
- Open today’s daily note in Obsidian. Hold the key. Say what you did this morning. Release.
- Read what appeared. Fix nothing. That’s your first spoken journal entry.
Then
- Use it for every “I should write that down” moment for a week. Capture first, sort later.
- Try it in the AI chat of your choice. Talking to an AI is a different experience than typing at it; you explain more and skip less.
- Later, once you’ve done the AI Master Prompt workshop, voice + a good master prompt is how I draft most of my writing.
Skip it if
You never type more than a sentence at a time, or you can’t have a microphone where you work. Otherwise, try it for a week before deciding.
What it leads to
The Journaling Deep Dive. You now have zero excuse on the capture side.
